WHO WE ARE
OUR BACKGROUND
Action for Community Development (ACODEV) is an indigenous Ugandan Non- governmental Organization (NGO) operating in the country under National Registration Service Bureau-Permit No.5656. It was established in 2003 and works in partnership with the public and civil society organizations to empower individuals, families and communities in Uganda through the promotion of innovative solutions in the areas of human rights, HIV/AIDS, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights Neonatal child health and institutional capacity strengthening.

KEY STRATEGIC AREAS
01 Health Promotion
Special focus is placed on health education for awareness and behaviour change, family planning, adolescent sexual reproductive health, maternal, newborn, and child health, HIV and AIDS, nutrition and service provision in partnership with other actors.
02 Economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods for women, youth, and marginalized groups:
Recognizing the power of livelihoods and economic empowerment as a powerful tool to changing the life of individuals and families in the areas where we operate.
03 Climate Action and mitigation
Acknowledging the increasing threats posed by climate change, ACODEV works to strengthen the resilience of households and communities to adapt to environmental changes and climate variability.
04 Institutional strengthening
To ensure effective and efficient service delivery, ACODEV focuses on strengthening her internal capacity, capacity of local partner organizations, and Institutions to realize her mandate.
